Want a novel idea? Try contracts for the book Frindle by Andrew Clements.

Each student's grade for this novel study will be based on the points they accumulate. Marks will be out of a possible 50 points. All students must write a multiple choice quiz based on the novel and complete the dictionary unit. After these compulsory activities students may choose from the list of contracts to raise their grade. At least one of the optional activities must be completed.

Marks earned:
45 - 50 points - A+
40 - 44  points - A
35 - 39 points - B
30 - 34 points - C
25 - 29 points - D

Compulsory Activities:
I. Write the multiple choice quiz after reading the novel. - /20
II. Complete the dictionary unit in Skills for School Success - /5

Optional Activities:
Choose between 2 - 5 of the contracts. Each one is worth 5 points and must be done in a satisfactory manner for points to be rewarded. You may choose from any of the categories.
